Just what is a Ning?

This conference site is actually called a Ning, an online social network. The word "Ning" is Chinese for "peace." Anyone can create a Ning around any topic or need. There are currently over 600,000 Nings in operation. You'll find a tremendous variety at Ning.com.

This "Ning" idea is a great idea! I am using this type of site for students as well. TJ's Gift is hosting a conference for youth from the North called the "Soaring Eagles Conference" and I'll be in contact with the participants of that conference throughout the year, using a "Ning".
