Hey, Cam. This is very cool. It took a while to load, though. Which website did you find this on? If there's an embed code for it, it would launch a lot more quickly.

Hi Ray,

Thanks. It is my pleasure to promote Project Overseas. I'm working on a blog posting. It should be up sometime tomorrow! Here is the address of the blog that my team leader Debbie kept of our trip: http://team-ghana2009.blogspot.com/

Have a great day!

Raman, I know your name, and somewhat your online presence, but unfortunately, not you personally....At some point, I'm sure that'll change. Thanks for the welcome. I was pleasantly surprised to see the email in my inbox, and I appreciate the gesture. As far as the guitar goes, I'm mostly a wanna-be, but I fake it well....Cam Bennet and I are doing some things together here, and he pointed me to the Ning. Said he enjoyed the conference....I'm looking forward to continuing to build my PLN locally (here in Manitoba). Thanks again for the welcome. It's old-school, and polite, and to me, that's means a lot. Have a great day!

Hi Raman,
I still haven't received confirmation regarding which sessions I'm in for tomorrow. Do I just wait and find out on site or did something get lost on its way to me?

Hi Raman,

I'm a little late coming to the party. I thought I had joined the Ning a while back when I created my page but must have been mistaken. Glad to be here and part of the ongoing discussions.

All Choked Up Over BLC09?

Four days ago, an attendee at the Open Education Conference in Vancouver tweeted “are you supposed to get choked up about an academic conference?” He said he was finding it hard not to feel emotional on the last day of Opened09.

Well, I was pretty emotional, as well, when I capped off an intensely rewarding conference experience at Building Learning Communities 2009 (BLC09) in Boston three weeks ago.

I wasn’t misty-eyed, just so ja… Continue

RIM Boss Talks Foreign Policy--Avoids Tech, Coyotes

Anyone who expected Research in Motion (RIM) co-CEO Jim Balsillie to talk about his company’s recently launched app store or his multi-million dollar bid to move the Phoenix Coyotes to Hamilton would have noticed the omissions at today’s Manitoba Chambers of Commerce luncheon.

But the BlackBerry mogul who spoke to a crowd of nearly 300 at the Delta Winnipeg--and was introduced as the “most competitive man in the room”--had some truly interesting points to make about, of all things, Canadian for… Continue

Amazing day at NEA's social media summit

An amazing day at the NEA, thanks largely to David Edwards, a sharp young international relations staffer and the wonderful Jill Christianson—also from IR.

David picked me up at the hotel and walked with me a few hundred metres to NEA headquarters. From then on I felt like royalty—my hosts were that genial.

I was introduced as the guest from the Canadian Teachers' Federation and thanked, tongue in cheek, for allowing the conference to be tagged as truly international.

The presentations—not a… Continue

Washington's "homiest" address?

What do you think when you see the White House on CNN? A stately, majestic icon of American power? Do you imagine lengthy motorcades and heavy security? Do you think about the weighty decisions made there which have projected power around the globe?

Well I suppose it's all that.

And heading up a half dozen blocks on 16th St. toward 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue I imagined the landmark to be portentous and imposing--just like in the establishing shots on the nightly news. But this warm and windless… Continue
